Poldhu Cove - our closest sandy beach

This National Trust owned large sandy beach is just over 2 miles away. Poldhu cafe right on the beach is open 363 days a year. You could even join in the annual Boxing Day swim or Easter duck race!

Gunwalloe Church Cove

Just along the coast from Poldhu is this sheltered sandy cove with a beautiful church part-buried in the sand. Dollar Cove just along the path to it is dog friendly all year. Both feature in Poldark.

Kynance Cove

One of the most picturesque and photographed beaches in Cornwall. If you're feeling energetic the walk from Mullion to here is simply stunning and you can reward yourself with a cream tea at the beachside National Trust cafe!

Mullion Cove, along with Coverack and Cadgwith is a working harbour. Walk the beautiful cliff path or just a sit on a bench and soak up the views. The most southerly point of the UK's mainland, Lizard Point is a great place to wave watch and you're almost guaranteed to see a seal or, in summer months, you might see basking sharks.

Travel just a bit further West and you'll find St Michael's Mount just off the coast of bustling Marazion. And just around the headland carved into the cliff above the blue waters of Porthcurno is the famous Minack Theatre, a must for the warmer summer evening

As well as some great local pubs, nearby Porthleven has a number of good restaurants as well as it's annual food festival and you'll be spoilt for choice in St Ives which is just 40 minutes away.

The Helford Estuary offers a change of scene and the chance to enjoy the water without going to sea. Gardens like Trebah and Glendurgan along the shore are beautiful to visit no matter what time of year but late Spring sees them at their best.
